Pampanilla Bordada #001 — Hand-Embroidered Shipibo Kené Panel
A pampanilla is a traditional Shipibo-Konibo ceremonial panel, hand-embroidered thread-by-thread by master artisans in the Peruvian Amazon. Each geometric pattern — the kené — is a visible song, a map of ayahuasca visions translated through needle and thread. No two are alike.
This piece was created by an artisan of the Kene Rao Foundation, a community of embroiderers in Pucallpa working to preserve Shipibo design tradition while funding education for their children.
